Polyxeni Kourasti

Polyxeni Kourasti was born and raised in Piraeus, where she completed secondary education. She continued her studies in the Department of Psychology at Pantheon University of Social and Political Sciences, from which she graduated in 2004. She then attended a postgraduate program in Developmental Psychology at Lancaster University in the United Kingdom.

From 2008 until today, she has been working as a psychologist at the Child and Adolescent’s Center, specifically in its structures that deal with people with Autism Spectrum Disorders, the Day Care Center for teenagers and young adults "in the Yard of the World" and the Specialized Center for ASD Diagnosis and Rehabilitation. Helianthus". Since April 2022, she has been working as the Scientific Manager of the Day Care Center "In the Backyard of the World".

Her scientific and research interest concerns ASD in all its scope and she has attended various trainings and seminars in recognized therapeutic interventions related to the Spectrum. She has also participated with presentations at conferences and as a speaker at educational seminars on ASD. The clinical experience she has acquired over the years has allowed her a very good understanding of the characteristics, peculiarities and potential of people with ASD and beyond therapeutic rehabilitation an important goal for her is to inform and raise awareness about ASD and inclusion of people with ASD in the society.
